INQUIRY

The Watch Center provides a “one stop shop” access to a number of federal, state and local law enforcement databases in addition to commercial databases that house information that can assist an investigator with any investigation. Investigative Inquiries are useful in identifying criminal histories, associates, phone numbers, border crossings, employment, current and previous addresses, property ownership and vehicle registration information, as well as other information. The completed Inquiry packet is reviewed by the Watch Commander and returned to the investigator with the separate database responses. Also included in the response is a summary report, completed by the analyst, summarizing significant data points found. This allows the investigator to review the actual database responses, in addition to drawing the investigators attention to information that the analyst believes is significant. CASE SUPPORT

The W/B HIDTA Watch Center provides case support services to law enforcement members in the W/B HIDTA region. The Watch Center’s specially trained analysts are able to provide case support in a number of ways and use specialized intelligence and analysis software like Visual Analytics, Pen Link and i2 Analyst Notebook to develop products that fit the needs of your investigation. Case Support efforts are not limited to, but include the areas of communications and financial analysis. Case Support services allow the analysts to create a product that can assist investigators and prosecutors in identifying patterns of activity, investigative leads and visual displays of criminal networks.

STRATEGIC INTELLIGENCE

The W/B HIDTA Watch Center provides strategic intelligence analysis and reporting to the region. The Watch Center staff is responsible for tracking and reporting trends in these areas through open source information, national and local seizure statistics, as well as, other law enforcement data. The results are strategic reports that provide intelligence, trends and analysis of the major issues confronting our region which is shared with the law enforcement community to assist with strategic planning and goals.
