The
administration component of the Washington/Baltimore HIDTA
oversee its daily operations, provide's financial and program
support services to all HIDTA initiatives and assist the Director
in monitoring the performance and financial accountability
of all initiatives.
Finance
Unit
The
Finance Unit assists HIDTA personnel with all aspects of budgeting
and financial management; maintains appropriate financial
records; and works closely with the HIDTA’s fiduciaries
(the University of Maryland and the Arlington County Police
Department). The
Audits and Compliance Program monitors initiatives’
compliance with applicable financial management regulations
and conducts annual audits of all HIDTA initiatives.
Technical
Services Unit
The
Technical Services Unit oversees a number of critical program
support services, including procurement, inventory control,
physical security services and facilities management. This
unit also maintains a pool of surveillance and technical equipment
that can be borrowed on a short-term basis by any HIDTA initiative
or participating agency to support drug enforcement investigations.
