Each
program is premised on drug abuse prevention research which
indicates that several different approaches can be effective
in reducing drug abuse and delinquency:
Washington D.C
A coalition program combining the Metropolitan Police Department and the Boys and Girls Club in conjunction with community support designed to increase participants' peer support, enhance life skills, build resiliency, and strengthen leadership skills. This year-round program uses age-specific modules that engage police officers, club staff, parents, community members, and older teen members in a team approach to prevention.

Baltimore
City
"Operation Crime Watch" is a W/B HIDTA partnership
program with the Baltimore Police Department, the Mayor's
Office of Neighborhoods and the Citizen's of Baltimore to
reduce and prevent drug use and drug related crime by engaging
citizens in law enforcement and community crime prevention
activities. The program allows for all community, faith-based
and non-profit organizations and businesses to participate.
