| Treatment/Criminal Justice Program
SEAMLESS
SYSTEM PROJECT
The Washington/Baltimore HIDTA provides Treatment/Criminal Justice funds only to jurisdictions that provide integrated drug treatment services and criminal justice supervision for hard-core substance dependent offenders, including drug testing and graduated sanctions for individuals that violate program requirements. The treatment services provided by the jurisdiction must include an initial assessment of the individual’s drug use and criminal history and placement in a treatment program that includes two or more treatment modalities. The criminal justice/supervision system must be able to coerce offenders in the treatment program or subject them to sanctions for failure to participate.
The Washington/Baltimore HIDTA Treatment/Criminal Justice Initiative is currently implemented in 8 jurisdictions. The project is in the following Maryland jurisdictions: Baltimore County and Prince George’s County. The project is also in Washington, DC, and the following Virginia jurisdictions: Alexandria City, Arlington County, Fairfax County, Loudoun County, and Prince William County. Each jurisdiction has developed a program to meet their individual systems. |
