Fentanyl Distribution Network in Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia Dismantled by Multi-Agency Investigative Effort
According to a January 24th press release from the Office of the U.S. Attorney for Northern West Virginia, 82 people have been indicted by a federal grand jury for a drug trafficking operation that distributed fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. According to court documents, those charged supplied others with large quantities of fentanyl capsules and powder for redistribution in Berkeley and Jefferson counties. The multi-agency investigation, including a W/B HIDTA-funded law enforcement initiative, yielded 10 kilograms of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, firearms, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in assets.
