12 members of drug trafficking organization in Curtis Bay facing charges

Officials from Baltimore along with Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) members announced the “takedown” of a drug trafficking organization that was connected to violence and fentanyl overdoses in south Baltimore.

As a result of the takedown, Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown announced that 12 people have been charged in a long-term investigation that included illegal possession of guns and the distribution of fentanyl.

In Sept. 2024, the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, Baltimore City Police, and the DEA began a joint investigation into the members and associates of a drug trafficking organization that was identified through Baltimore’s Group Violence Reduction Strategy (GVRS).

Officials say the violent group was operating in the 4100 block of Morrison Court in the Curtis Bay neighborhood of Baltimore, and the investigation began as a response to the high rates of fentanyl overdoses in the vicinity.

Authorities say an investigation revealed that members of the organization sold drugs, including fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine in the area of Morrison Court, and the surrounding areas including Pennington Avenue, Plum Street, and Grace Court.
